A private psychotherapy practice and consult service specializing in addictions, chronic pain, and related mental health issues
Meet Leslie Bosworth
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working in Harvard-affiliated healthcare settings.
My life’s work is with two of the most misunderstood and stigmatized afflictions - addictions and chronic pain.
I have developed several programs in a large academic medical center for the treatment of addictions and chronic pain. I am a certified chronic pain support group leader by the US Pain Foundation.

Chronic pain
I treat substance use disorders and behavioral addictions. Without stigma or judgment, we explore the dynamics and functions of the addiction. Together, we grapple with ambivalence, connect with your deepest values and motivations, and journey together towards a fuller life. We will address any depression, anxiety, environmental dynamics, or trauma history that might lie beneath the addiction.
Using the CRAFT model of family support for addiction recovery, we can explore the impacts of the addiction in the family. We focus on the complexities of boundary setting, incentivize recovery, and promote safety for everyone in the family.
I help families explore all treatment options and connect the loved one with the right care.
Chronic pain causes more than physical suffering. It impacts relationships, brings losses and unwanted changes, and creates conflicts with the medical system. I help people ease suffering by learning to live with pain emotionally and practically.
General mental health
Although my clinical focus is related to addictions and chronic pain, I welcome people struggling with other issues. Examples include anxiety, mood, eating, and thought disorders, as well as trauma, difficult adjustments, health issues, grief, and caregiver stress
For businesses & organizations
I provide consulting and advisory services to leaders of public and private organizations on substance use disorders. I examine the risk and protective factors for recovery in a team member. On behalf of the organization, I can assess an individual for where they are in their addiction or recovery and provide ongoing support, treatment planning, and referrals.
